Guiding Our Programs
The Director of Religious Education supervises the teaching program for both our youngest children, the elementary and middle school groups and our teen youth group. We encourage the participation of all of the adult members of the fellowship in our RE classes and activities. Our RE teachers are all volunteers. Most volunteers teach just three or four Sundays a year.
The following is the Religious Education Program schedule for the current month:
Sunday, November 3rd: UU BIGS “Hinduism—One God, A Thousand Faces”
Sunday, November 10th. UU BIGS Hinduism…. continued.
Sunday, November 17th, UU Littles “Chalice Cookie,” (also, instead of boardgame cafe, bagels and a movie)- Guest at our Table short lesson for all ages.
Sunday, November 24th, UU Littles- “We are grateful, helping others.”
We will begin collecting for our annual toy drive donation (to benefit Project Self-Sufficiency) in November. Please bring any unwrapped new toys or gift cards, also gloves, hats and scarves. Please be mindful of the environmental impact of your gifts; perhaps, whenever possible, pause to consider how and where the gift was made and how it and its packaging impacts the Earth.
Keep your eyes open for holiday cards for sale (with “Chalice Art” images that the children have made). It would be great to use them if you are sending out greetings via snail mail this season.
Our “Gratitude Pumpkin” will reside on the snack table. Please contribute what you are thankful for in writing on said pumpkin. You can use the Sharpie that rests beside it.
